Obama


     Barack Obama was born in August 4th, 1961. He is the 44th president and the first African American to be president. He is born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School.  In the 2008 presidential election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain.  In foreign policy, he ended the Iraq War, increased troop levels in Afghanistan, signed the New START arms control treaty with Russia, ordered US involvement in the 2011 Libya military intervention, and ordered the military operation that killed Osama Bin Laden. In April 2011, Obama declared to go for office again in 2012. The first bill signed into law by Obama was the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009.
                                        


Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, succeeding State Senator Alice Palmer as Senator from Illinois's 13th District, which at that time spanned Chicago South Side neighborhoods from Hyde Park–Kenwood south to South Shore and west to Chicago Lawn. Obama was sworn in as a senator on January 3, 2005, becoming the only Senate member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda's leader and mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that killed thousands of Americans, was slain Sunday in his luxury hideout in Pakistan in a firefight with U.S. forces, ending a manhunt that spanned a frustrating decade.



Obama's family consists of him, his wife, his two daughters, and his mother-in-law. Barack Obama's wife is Michelle Obama, the first lady, his two daughters are Malia Obama and Natasha Obama, and his mother-in-law is Marian Robinson. They all live in White House as of now.
